“As an artist, to be relatable through my work, to offer my perspective in such an honest way that even one person might think:

‘That is so true.’

That is my goal.

I love the feeling of hearing a song that feels like it was written just for me.

I want to give that feeling to other people as often as I can.”

The first full-length album release from RE:ID, “Tether” explores all the things that keep us in our current situations; positive or negative.

As human beings, social creatures predisposed to seek community and companionship, we have all stayed somewhere we knew we shouldn’t.

Maybe it was a job that didn’t fulfill you, a relationship that wasn’t healthy or even a city you had outgrown; the thing to remember is that humans are also highly skilled in ignoring our inner needs in exchange for external validations.

“Tether” speaks to these external validations, the superficial connections to those things we need to leave behind in order to evolve.

The message is simple and unflinching:

Find your tethers. Acknowledge that which holds you in place.

Practice the self-care necessary to break the binds.

Progress to your next level.
